    The Sons of Confederate Veterans is the direct heir of the United Confederate Veterans, and the oldest hereditary organization for male descendants of Confederate soldiers.
    Organized at Richmond, Virginia in 1896, the SCV continues to serve as a historical,patriotic, and non-political organization dedicated to insuring that a true history of the Confederate States of America is preserved.

    Membership in the Sons of Confederate Veterans is open to all male descendants of any Military Veteran or Government personnel who served honorably in the Confederate armed forces.

    Each member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans is a descendant of a Confederate Patriot of the War for Southern Independence.

    Membership can be obtained through either direct or collateral family lines.
Kinship to a veteran must be documented genealogically. The minimum age for full
membership is 12, but there is no minimum for Cadet membership.

    Candidates MUST submit an APPLICATION FORM, along with a detailed genealogy
describing your relationship to the veteran, and PROOF OF HIS SERVICE to The
Southern Cross Of Honor Camp.

For those individuals that are waiting on results of a family tree search, or for

those that know they do not have Confederate Ancestors, we offer an

ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP PROGRAM.

You can petition our Camp for Associate Membership. If approved you will

become a limited member. These restrictions will be explained when you

submit your application.

The Southern Cross Of Honor Camp was formed out our gratitude to the United
Daughters of the Confederacy, and to honor ALL PEOPLES of the Confederate States of America!

We were Chartered as Camp #2136 in January 2008, and are located in Salem, Columbiana County, Ohio

The Southern Cross Of Honor Camp was named in honor of the medal presented to Confederate Veterans by the United Daughters of the Confederacy for their loyal and honorable service.
